Victoria Beckham: UK Vogue April 2008

 

The Posh one graces UK’s Vogue April 2008 cover, and while this isn’t a USVogue cover, it’s still a pretty big deal in the fashion world. It means there is enough interest in her to sell the Vogue name, and push magazines; considering she used to be the most hated woman in Britain, this says alot for her status in the UK now. Who knew “Coming to America” would mean she would dominate the UK? (erm, fashion-wise, that is).

Now, let’s break down the cover. I am disappointed in the shot they used, and you would think VB would be as well. (“All this thinness, and you would THINK Vogue of all publications would appreciate it!”)  It’s a “fashion magazine” yet, we see no fashion? No clothing? To me, it looks more like a diamond advert, or possibly an advertisement for “CoverGirl Lipslicks”.  A Vogue cover shot? Really?

**UPDATE** Here is a shot from the innards of the mag. Urgh. I am losing hope. The dress… the hair… the outdated long painted nails? This is not“May-ja!”.

The Spice Girls’ LAST Performance

The girls kicked off their tour in Vancouver on December 2, 2007 (I was there, natch) and ended it last night in Toronto. The YouTube video above is video of their LAST performance from the LAST show. You know those bitches are glad it’s done… well, except Geri Halliwell, who would never willingly step out of the spotlight.

Cruz Beckham brought the moves again last night at their last show. I wonder how annoyed the rest of the girls get with a three year-old stealing their spotlight? (especially, Geri! “Bluebell, DO SOMETHING CUTE!!”) Apparently the little precocious one wouldn’t get off the stage, and threw a fit! (unfortch, this wasn’t captured on video).

I just came across this clip of an old Spice Girls Documentary (by Spice Girls, I mean Victoria Beckham…). It’s 9 minutes long, but, really, watch the whole thing as it is really special. Pre-pretention, and self-conciousness… it’s worth a watch for Victoria’s post game chat with David alone. Emma and Melly C even snuck in for a cameo with a quick little love up.

SO, I’m not sure that this documentary reveals all THAT much, although, I do quite fancy the brief hate on Geri by Mel C and Emma. Speaking of Geri… Urgh! Such a scene stealer (NOT in the good way might I add), and so transparent. Turn off the waterworks for god sake *can you tell I am not a Geri fan?*

That Pepsi add still gets me uber pumped!

VB, on the other hand, is as usual, pure perfection (well, minus the blonde she would be).

Posh: Pure Perfection

The SPICE GIRLS concert. Vancouver. December 2nd. The day all my dreams came true. Mostly just because I finally was able to see Victoria Beckham in the flesh (oh, and those other chicks)… and man oh man, let me tell you, she is hotter in person than in any picture. The fiercest creature from every angle. She posed, she pointed and she strutted. I could not take my eyes off her, and found it difficult to pay attention to the other 4. To me, they were just back up dancers with kitschy names of Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Scary.

The show itself was the most amazing spectacle I have ever witnessed, and, I must admit, caused me to break into the “ugly cry” more than once. The girls were pure performance perfection, and while there was a hint of the lipsync, I’ll turn a blind eye.
