Are Women Obligated to Vote for Clinton?

OK, so, everyone knows I’d rather watch ANTM over a Presidential debate anyday, but this article on CNN.com caught my attention. I think it’s a very interesting question: Should women feel obligated to vote for Hillary Clinton? I’ve actually posed the same question to myself prior to hearing it in this article. While, logically, I am inclined to say ”Neither sex nor colour of the candidate should matter– it’s the platform that is important”, I have to say that it is extremely inspiring to see a woman in this position; especially considering the state of our pop culture world these days. I think seeing a woman in such a successful role gives young girls something to aspire to, instead of the trash we have been inundated with lately compliments of the 20-something year old starlets of this generation. For now, I would say I am proud, not obligated.

Take a moment to read the article below, and keep in mind, I would only post it if it were interesting! I’ve bolded my favorite part.

FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:

Women should not feel guilty if they prefer Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton… so says Oprah Winfrey.

During a rally in Los Angeles, Winfrey said, “Every part of me believes in the empowerment of women. But the truth is I’m a free woman. Being free means you get to think for yourself and you get to decide for yourself what to do.” She said women who had already planned to vote for someone else – that would mean Hillary – ahad “the right to change their mind.”

Winfrey described how she was criticized by some women after she campaigned for Obama in Iowa. She says they called her a traitor to her gender.

Oprah participated in a huge rally for Barack Obama yesterday along with Michelle Obama, Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver – wife of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Hype In A Jar

Oprah highly recommends this product, and has nothing but good things to say about it. You think, Oprah would know her sh*t… she has any product she wants at her fingertips, however, she missed the mark on this one!

The company claims:

The ‘hope in a jar’ original formula was created for the medical market and is a world-renowned skin cream. It contains beta glucan, a powerful antioxidant, which enhances skin immunology; and lactic acid, which gently exfoliates skin to reveal smoother, healthier-looking skin. For years, plastic surgeons have been recommending this formula to patients in pursuit of younger, healthier skin. Results can be seen and felt within days, leaving a healthy, rosy glow to the skin that doesn’t require makeup or cover-up.

PUH-LEEZE!
I have oily skin… prone to breakouts (at times, but not so much anymore). At 26, I want something for prevention, something that will be good to my skin.
The aroma is that of lavender. Some are not fond of lavender, however, I don’t mind it at all. It also dissipates quickly. I like the jar application too… it is totally sanitary if you have clean hands when applying it, which you should have anyways when applying your moisturizer. It doesn’t sink in and leaves a weird pastey residue. After using my mineral makeup, my skin feels oily already.
Throughout the day, the shininess is AWFUL!! Someone could groom their eyebrows in the reflection of my forehead. Ya, that bad. This is not one for oily skin AT ALL, even though it says ‘for all skin types’ (huge lie… no moisturizer is good for ALL skin types!) I bought it for $50 at Sephora in Canada, and that is too pricey for this product. I’ve used it twice, and now I will give it away. Shame! Hype in a Jar.
Back to my Kiehls Yerba Mate moisturizer I go.
